North America, a vast, grand place, full of so many different types of terrain and people! A great place for exploration and especially, roadtrips!

North American countries I've visited:

Canada, Mexico and the USA

Canada
Mexico

I went to Canada with family back when I was 17-years old (summer of 2006). It was a stop on our cruise, and all I remember is I was blown away by how beautiful it was, and really bored on the never-ending train ride we took from ____________ to ___________, which I'm sure is something I'd now absolutely love. Figures.

Unfortunately, it was so long ago, and I remember so little/have so few photos, I can't really produce any content for my blog about it. Someday I'll go back, and who knows, maybe I'll stay a long time!

United States of America

I have been to Mexico a total of five times. Three with my high school youth group to build homes for families in need, and twice on cruises with my family. I've seen a lot of the culture, and interacted with people on all walks of life. From the family of five sharing one room in a three-wall home, to the posh-y people vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, to the mothers and children littering the bridges in Tijuana begging for pesos. I love Mexico so much, and it makes me so sad that so many are scared to go there, and that in many ways, there are so many valid reasons to fear. It's a beautiful country, with amazing people, and is home to my favorite kind of food. I'll always be going back to Mexico!

Born and raised in Northern/Central California by a half-Japanese half-Hungarian father and a mother of European (and Native American?) decent, in a city that's home to some of the country's richest business mogels, as well as countless prostitutes, drug addicts and gang members, I consider myself and my life to be pretty typically American -- multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, living, breathing, seeing the gap between rich and poor, in a word: diverse. Though I consider myself to be of the world and able to identify with many people and cultures, this is where I'm from. And it's a huge place, that I've seen little of, and am curious  and ready to explore.
