Upcoming Adventure

I've always kind of had a loose policy that states: Don't go anywhere you've already been. Now, this isn't because I don't like the places I've been, it's mostly because I recognize that time and money are limited, there are a lot of places to go, and while so many I want to see remain on My Hit List, I can't really justify spending my resources to do repeat trips. But as is the case with all things in life, there are exceptions, and Amsterdam just so happens to be one of them.

The first time I went to Amsterdam was with 11+/- friends from my study abroad program when we were studying in Bilbao, Spain (2009-2010). We went for a weekend, I fell in love with the city, and we had an incredible weekend. I figured I'd go back at some point in my life, but never would have guessed I'd be there three times within nine months at any point in my life! I love how God works in our lives to deliver us the unexpected. :)

Last summer, I was at BOOM Festival in Portugal for a week, where I met an incredible group of Dutchies. We made an instant and deep connection, and I knew I wanted more of them in my life. I just wasn't sure how it was going to happen. But, I ended up going to visit them in September, kinda started to fall in love with one of them, and to keep it short and simple, I'll just say, the rest is history! He came here in Oct/Nov, so it was my turn to make the trip. I went back in January for a visit, and now, this weekend, I'm off again!

Sadly, I'm being told the weather isn't so great up there, which is really hard to grasp considering I've had a sleepless week because of too much heat. And we're all planning on going to a music festival in the forest on Saturday, but there's no way a bit of rain is going to ruin that!

I'm so excited to link up with the Tribe again, share some great vibes, and have a beautiful weekend with some incredible people to round out my final bits of time over here. It will be awesome!
